Broadcast Journalism
Here are some of my favorite packages I have created since participating in the multimedia course.
For a QuickTurn Cooking contest, I helped write a script for and film a cooking video involving the ingredient lemon. We filmed this in one afternoon and had so much fun editing it afterwards.
We filmed this PSA in a day and then edited it for our daily show. This was one of my first ever broadcast projects. I learned how to truly work a professional camera in this shoot.
For another assignment in class, me and one other student had to go create a natural sound package in under 6 hours. While the process was brutal, we were able to learn some spectacular stories in places we wouldn't have assumed.
The idea I had for this commentary came from an article I had recently read, and I tried working with graphics for the first time in this piece!
National History Day
In addition to my work in my broadcast class, I also created two ten-minute documentaries for the National History Day Compeition.
This documentary was made during COVID-19 times, and went on to win second in the state at the National History Day State Competition.
This documentary was made in seventh grade, and I tried to tie together my love for journalism with my love for history.
Anchoring experience
Here are some highlights from my anchoring debut at WAHS TV. This opportunity gave me a chance to show off the anchoring I practiced in junior high.
Here's my final day on set at our sixth grade morning announcements group.
Here is a compilation of my junior high anchoring experience (prior to being interrupted by COVID-19).
